Like in Lahore. Made with patience.
Nice of you to drop by.
No ready-made curry, no cream sauce, no buffet trick. At LAHORI DHABA you get Lahori family recipes — spicy like on the subcontinent, slow-braised, 100% halal.

Lahori cuisine doesn't do compromises.
There's a moment with the first bite when either everything is right — or it isn't. The Butter Chicken that tastes of braised tomatoes, ginger and green chillies, not of standard curry paste. The Chicken Korma that melts creamily on your tongue because it was slowly braised in cashew cream. The Chicken Biryani that smells of saffron and whole spices because the basmati was layered and cooked in its own steam — not quickly stirred together.
This is the moment we start early for every day at LAHORI DHABA. While others are still asleep, our Chicken Korma is simmering, we're mixing the spices fresh by hand, and our curries are slowly coming together. Lahori cuisine is a craft — and you can't rush a craft.
We don't cook our food "fast" — we cook it right. With slow-braised curries like in Lahore, real basmati rice & raita with every curry, and ingredients we'd eat at home ourselves. Everything 100% halal — from the certified slaughterhouse to the pot. The reward is the moment of the first bite. You'll know what we're talking about.
Six things where we take no shortcuts
This isn't a marketing list — these are the decisions we make every day. Every single one costs time or money, and you can taste every single one.
Curries: slow-cooked
Our Butter Chicken and Chicken Korma simmer slowly over a low flame — the chicken cooks in creamy cashew cream with tomatoes, ginger and green chillies. No curry from a packet, no ready-made sauce.
Fresh basmati rice with every curry
Every dish comes with fragrant basmati rice and cool raita — fluffy, grain by grain. We'd never eat reheated ready-made rice from a bag ourselves.
100% halal, no asterisks
Our chicken comes exclusively from certified halal slaughterhouses. Neither pork nor alcohol is used in our kitchen — checked and consistent.
Spices mixed by hand
Garam masala, korma blend, biryani masala — everything is freshly ground by hand and blended every day. No ready-made pastes, no industrial spice powder from a 5 kg bucket.
Biryani, layer by layer
Real Biryani isn't "rice with chicken on top". We layer half-cooked basmati with spiced chicken, seal the pot with dough and let everything steam slowly over a low flame. Steam-cooked, just like at home in Lahore.
Family recipes from Lahore
Our curries and braised dishes follow the recipes our family grew up with in Lahore — spicy, bold, honest. Nothing has been made "milder" for the German palate.
A dhaba isn't a restaurant.
It's a way of life.
In Pakistan, "dhaba" means the small roadside restaurants along the highways — places where truck drivers, families and students come together because the food is honest, hearty and made to grandma's recipe. No frills, no fusion gimmicks. Just good, hearty food.
We're bringing this way of life to Erfurt. When you order Butter Chicken or Biryani from us, you get exactly what a Pakistani family in Lahore serves up for dinner — no compromises.
